Learning Community

The New Work of Marketing Learning Community is a gathering of marketing professionals working together to support best practices in marketing that balance financial success with ethics and authenticity. This learning community supports Hosfeld & Associates' goal of animating change at the individual and collective levels of the marketing industry in keeping with the principles of sustainability in for-profit and non-profit organizations.

Preparation for Learning Community Launch:

We are currently gathering input for initial goal setting for this program. Please visit the Interest Page to provide your insights and express interest in this program.

Pilot Program:

We will run a pilot Learning Community program in the Seattle area. Based on the results of this pilot, we will make plans for expansion of the program. We may offer multiple communities focused on different topics. We may also offer programs in other cities.

Costs:

Fees will be charged to participate in Learning Communities to pay for professional facilitation and for follow-up reports and news. We will take your recommendations on pricing and desired supporting services and use this design the fees for the pilot program and program launch.



The principles of this community are:

  • Marketing professionals care about the integrity of their profession and the clients they serve, and want to learn new methods
  • Marketing professionals' need to bring soulfulness to their work
  • Complex problems call for many solutions
  • People from all types of marketing backgrounds and industries have something to contribute
  • When people develop trust and relationships through face-to-face dialogue, new ideas and approaches emerge
  • When people consider different points of view on a complex issue, they uncover common ground and find better solutions
  • Change is more likely to last and deepen when individual and collective actions are tied together


  • We intend that our Learning Communities will convene groups of up to sixteen people who meet regularly over a period of time, convening on a specific area of inquiry (strategy, branding, public relations, etc). We will use the experiences of individuals and group presentations to examine many points of view and practices. We will use the interest surveys gathered prior to April to shape the design of these meetings.

    Outcomes of Learning Community experiences are:

  • New learning
  • New relationships and networks
  • New ownership of issues
  • New leadership
  • New industry practices
